Our Story & Mission
The story of Haven is not just about the vision of one or two people, but is about the culmination of the dreams and passions of several mental health providers in the Knoxville area. Friends and colleagues who had worked in various medical settings and counseling centers began talking years earlier about having a clinic location that could provide both counseling and medication management in the same practice, and how this practice could provide an inviting environment that would be sensitive to the the values and beliefs of those who were being served.
In the Fall of 2015, the original group of clinicians came together and Haven Family Psychiatry began seeing our first patients in January of 2016. In the Spring of 2018, our clinic began to significantly expand our counseling/therapy services, while we also restructured the leadership of our psychiatry/medication management services with our core psychiatric providers taking own new levels of ownership to continue our growth. We continue to grow and to have the pleasure to continue to serve the people in our community.
As a group of providers, we at Haven want to be centered on a rule of life that seeks God and his transformation for ourselves and the world around us. We are committed to the Christian worldview to serve others in their needs. And though we identify ourselves as a Christian community, we want to serve all people regardless of their beliefs and values. Whether your faith perspective is Atheist/Agnostic, Christian, questioning, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or any other belief or unbelief, you are welcomed and will be respected with the values and questions you bring.
We hope that you will consider setting up an appointment with us.
