Kelsie McGlothin, MA
Adult, Child, & Family Therapy

Kelsie is a mental health professional who brings clinical experience from multiple therapy settings, including private practice, and community- and school-based settings. In her work with children, adults, and families, she particularly enjoys taking the mystery out of psychotherapy and employing genuine warmth in collaboration with her clients as they walk toward their goals of growth and healing.

She works with clients who are experiencing a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, and life transitions, among others. Kelsie is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidenced-based therapy for children with a range of issues including anxiety, ADHD, oppositional defiance, reactive attachment, and trauma. Kelsie is also trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and the trauma-informed ARC framework, with emphasis on securing and deepening relationships, managing emotion and behavior, and building skills in self-awareness and identity. Kelsie is also currently leading our Women's group for Survivors of Sexual Trauma

Kelsie earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University in Chattanooga, focusing her clinical training in trauma-informed research and practices. She is seeking licensure in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling in the State of Tennessee, under the supervision of S. David Hall, PsyD, LMFT, LPC-MHSP-AS.

Kelsie grew up in Nashville. She then lived in the Chattanooga area for 10 years before moving to Knoxville. Before entering the mental health field, Kelsie’s previous career was in journalism, and she continues to enjoy creative writing and photography. When she’s not at Haven, she’s hiking in the Smokies with her husband John, reading a good book, or enjoying delicious tacos wherever possible.
